Haiti and the Dominican Republic share the island of Hispaniola. Although the two countries are quite different, they are close to each other. I decided to check them out together.

Although I had been traveling between Thailand and China many times, I had never done an overland trip from Thailand to China. This time I got to get to Beijing in a short time notice and air tickets were quite expensive due to the Chinese New Year. I decided to do this overland trip and explore Northern Laos and Xishuangbanna a little bit en route.
